  1. I first booked my Mumbai – Pune ticket at irctc on 4th June 06. I have used the service 3 times since then and found it one of the useful e-commerce sites. It may not be the most usable site I have ever used, but I am satisfied as I can search for the train, book a ticket and pay.

To sum up what makes it different, even if it’s a government site in just 2 words…
    It works.

  2. Agree with Shantanu.
It works. Its bad Interface but..It works!

No need to worry abt that long queues and slowly working cobol based old softwares.
Take a print-out and you are ready to go.
It has also removed all those “third party agents”.

  3. For the past 3 years I ve used IRCTC extensively and I find it very effective – no more long queues and frustrating downtime with systems. Whats more, the Auto upgrade feature actually works!

Now all they need is a Live Chat assistance to help customers with their queries/doubts!
