Came across this beautiful quote in an email:
“Progress is impossible without change; and those who cannot change their minds cannot change anything.” - George Bernard Shaw
And quite relevant to that quote, Robin Sharma writes about “The 4 Fs of Change Resistance”. He says:
Most training doesn’t last. No stickiness. We attend a seminar and vow to transform our lives. We say we’ll be better parents, leaders and human beings. 2 days later, it’s back to business as usual - seeing the negative, playing the victim and being cranky. The learning didn’t work. Because we didn’t change.
And then talks about the four most important factors why we resist change! Good read.

Was talking to a friend today and some things came up…
I am a person who likes to solve problems. I am always trying to change or fix things. This is not the best place to start from. If I look at it the situation as it is, and think of what can be created in that, it would work out better. It’s really in the language, my purpose behind change/fix would be the same as creating something, but if I use the right language, the right attitude is developed.
On the same lines, I am somebody who likes to break things apart and then put them together. That’s how I built a tape recorder, or a model plane, or a model rocket or some nifty software. I sense I may be doing that in relationships too - hurting somebody and then covering for it. If I change the language and context here, that would also make a big breakthrough.
On another plain, was going through Robin Sharma’s “Who will cry when you die”. There is a note about mastering time. It says: Since we do not know when we are going to die, people take time as an inexhaustible resource. We then procrastinate things. If we treated time as a really precious resource, we will be able to do effective time management.

I was on Robin Sharma’s website today and read his blogs and podcasts. Robin Shrama is the world renowned motivational speaker, with a long list of best seller books to his credit - including The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari. I was checking on his site to find out details about his visit to Mumbai this week. He is going to be at Crosswords Kemps Corner on 15th October.
That aside, I strongly recommend you to frequent The Inner Circle portion of Robin’s website. It contains his blog, monthly newsletters, inspirational quotes, the books he likes, 200 rules of being successful, a discussion forum, and a desktop tool that gives you daily inspirational quotes and news.
I am sure you will like it!

Trust & Freedom - values at the core of my heart. I created the possibility of trust and freedom as part of my Landmark Advanced course in August 2005. The course was superb, and I will write more about it soon, but I thought how can I create something that will allow me to take these values to more and more people?
This website is the fruit of that thought. It’s going to be a blog, and I will write about trust and freedom as they touch various aspects of life. I may delve more into software and relationships - these are topics that interest me.
It’s a new beginning and I made a drawing to reflect! I actually painted something after a decade!
The drawing is of a morning walk - it shows the usual life: students going to school, some people travelling, greenery, a busy road, a few buildings, and then the person who’s actually going on the walk. If you look at these daily visual with a different perspective, you can notice there is so much trust and freedom around!
- Freedom to enjoy such a beautiful morning
- Trust in the friendship of three kids
- Trust and freedom for the young one who’s riding the bike with her dad
- Freedom that nature has given us, and what we try and limit with a variety of social structures
- Trust that we have in the supreme power
Wish you a great weekend!
