I got this as an email forward today, and couldn’t resist but post it here! Enjoy!
We thought fuel has become really expensive after the recent price hike. But then we compared it with other common liquids and did some quick calculations, and I felt a little better!!!!!!!.
To know why, see the results below - you’ll be surprised at how outrageous some other prices are!!
- Diesel (regular): Rs.44.08 per litre
- Petrol (speed): Rs.57.68 per litre
- Coca Cola 330 ml can : Rs.20 = Rs.61 per litre
- Dettol antiseptic 100 ml Rs.20 = Rs.200 per litre
- Radiator coolant 500 ml Rs.160 = Rs.320 per litre
- Pantene conditioner 400 ml Rs.165 = Rs.413 per litre
- Medicinal Mouthwash like Listerine 100 ml Rs.45 = Rs. 450 per litre
- Red Bull 150 ml can : Rs.75 = Rs.500 per litre
- Corex cough syrup 100 ml Rs.57 = Rs. 570 per litre
- Evian water 500 ml Rs. 330 = Rs. 660 per litre (Rs. 660 for a litre of WATER!! And the buyers don’t even know the source (Evian spelled backwards is Naive…)
- Kores whiteout 15 ml Rs. 15 = Rs. 1000 per litre
- Cup of coffee at any decent business hotel 100 ml Rs. 50 = Rs. 500 per litre
- Old Spice after shave lotion 100 ml Rs. 175 = Rs. 1750 per litre
- Pure almond oil 25 ml Rs. 68 = Rs. 2720 per litre
And this is the REAL KICKER…
HP DeskJet colour ink cartridge 21 ml Rs.1900 = Rs. 90476 per litre!!!
Now you know why computer printers are so cheap? So they have you hooked for the ink!
So, the next time you’re at the pump, don’t curse anyone - just be glad your car doesn’t run on cough syrup, after shave, coffee, or God forbid, printer ink!

Men, make sure to lift the toilet seat before urinating; if you are concerned about the sanitary conditions, you can use your foot to gently lift the side of the toilet seat up or down.
If you think that’s funny, think again! That’s one of the bathroom etiquettes you should follow. Adam Lowe runs a podcast - Modern Manners Guy on Quick And Dirty Tips. He has covered bathroom manners in good length in one of the podcasts. It’s definitely worth a listen / read. I not only learned some, but also had a good time reading them! I have now subscribed to the transcripts as RSS!
And while we are on the topic, a couple of images on the topic!

I am someone who forgets birthdays and anniversaries. I’ve been able to manage with apologies so far. And I’ve been thinking of having an application to track important recurring dates for a very long time. Till date, I have not acted on this.
What is the best system to manage birth dates / anniversaries / other important recurring dates?
Is it recurring events in iCal (I am on a Mac), or one of these various sites (e.g. BirthdayAlarm), or Plaxo (I really like the way it reminds for birthdays, but not everyone on my list will be online!). Is it some desktop software? Or is it some home grown system? (We have a birthday bot in Magnet, checks for upcoming employee birthdays everyday and notifies people!)
What works best for you?

Ok, I am flicking this straight from Kapil’s blog. But I loved it!
Observe this image and try to decipher what’s written.

Can’t? Now try pulling the corner of your eyes to make them look like those of a Chinese person. NOW YOU CAN SEE!
What’s the idea? Do Chinese see the world differently
