October 24th, 2005 — Glancer Project
We have got the delegate registration process almost done up for Glancer. The things done so far are:
- DB Design
- Splash screen
- Login procedure
- Registration UI
- Webservices for Registration, Login etc
Need to integrate the stuff and push it on the server now!
I hope we get a direct link from Foss.In site for this. Ideally after the registration process, or even better, if Glancer could handle the whole delegate registration process.

Robert Cringely is seeing an energy crisis coming, with so many companies giving GBs of free storage space.
But every one of these service providers, if they really do intend to be there when we need them with all our pictures, videos, love letters, and construction blueprints, are going to have to keep all that data available online 24/7, which is an unprecedented storage challenge, and one that the storage industry has NOT been working on.
As my Mama would say, this is a problem of having a big old back end.

The Media Center PC ads and demos are all over the place these days. The model has not been a great hit, and reviewers say it’s good as a secondary entertainment device. But what if the sub $500 Mac Mini can do the things that MCP can do? APCMag has a story about it:
Apple is about to slog Microsoft’s media center strategy for six. First Apple leaves a mysterious header on the Mac Mini motherboard for a non-existent iPod dock connector. Then it brings out media center software and a video iPod at the same time. Then it recruits the head of TV recording company ElGato. When you put the pieces together, it ain’t pretty for Microsoft.

October 20th, 2005 — Experiences, Meanings & Explorations
Yesterday was a great day full of learnings. Both good things and bad things.
The workday started out sour. One developer in the team showed unavailability to work on a project, two are simply too pressed with projects that a new project we want to get on, is getting delayed. I had an upset with one close friend.
But then I decided not to spoil the rest of the day on these upsets. I realized that smiling is a choice. You can smile when you want to. And smile triggers happiness. Happiness itself is a choice that you make. It is a state of being, and not an end by itself.
The rest of the day took a totally different shape then. I could find more people to work on the projects, completed about the upsets, and get a lot more work done. I was able to give my 100% to other meetings and activities in the day and this was all because of a simple choice!
Make your choice for today!
